One Red Balloon is up and away!

When we were first planning the Andover Space Programme launch last year, it felt exciting. Launching a balloon full of people’s memories and hopes, and sending it to the edge of space was a thrill. Since the lockdown began, it’s come to mean something else to me – finding a kind of freedom that’s been denied to all of us by the Covid-19 epidemic. Our original plans for the launch were to have a big ceremony in the middle of Andover, with everybody welcome. That’s not possible anymore, so instead, I’ve made this small computer game about the fun, innocence and adventure of flight. Your goal is to take the balloon as high as possible, while dodging the obstacles up in the air. I hope that people will be able to play this at home and enjoy themselves, but also take the game as a reminder that there’s still a bigger picture out there, and that we can still all look up to the sky and dream about what’s possible….while dodging birds, planes, parachutists and rockets of course!
